i have a 2013 Lakota 4 horse. It has a ramp that's not factory. If I recall correctly the dealer told me it was a new one from a different brand of trailer. Fits nice. Looks great but when open it sits about two inches off the ground. When someone steps on it then it goes to the ground but I fear a horse will get a foot stuck getting on. I can't see that there is any way to adjust this. Any ideas?

Ours is a factory ramp on our Sundowner and it does not rest on the ground when I drop it unless I step on it. I've never had an issue with the horse. I have to step on it first to open door to back of trailer and it does not pop back up. THere are springs that might be able to be adjusted...but maybe have the dealer do it as you may need special tools.

Had a ramp that did the same. Floated a couple of inches from the ground. When leading the horse, made sure I was the first to put a foot on the ramp. Backing off wasn't a problem for the horses.
Be sure to keep the shavings from building up on the hinge. You can easily break the hinge, lifting it closed with a rock or wad of shavings at the hinge.
