Hi-I want to temporaily reinforce a corroded area of aluminum flooring on my 2005 Exiss . I have cleaned, acid washed etc. 1 area about 2 x 3 feet is corroded enough that I can see 1bout 5 full thickness holes. The holes range from pinpoint to about 3 mm. The floor in this area is severely pitted. I can find no one near me to replace floor and must take the trailer on a long ( 2000 mile) trip right away. Can I get some 0.125 or 0.188 aluminum and screw it to floor in this area for a few trips til I can get it replaced? Any other ideas? I do have 2 layers of mats over floor- first is just a 1" material, very lightweight, that adds cushion (Procusion??) and then regular rubber mats . Input appreciated

Quick short term fix.... Would a sheet of 4'x8'x3/4" treated plywood placed over the bad area with the mats on top work for the trip....? Take it out when you get back so it all can dry out. Acid wash that bad floor and make repairs.

Almost anything that will span the damaged area will work temporarily. Retento's plywood would work too. Although I would not use treated wood. Some wood treatments would enhance the corrosion process. Exiss already had problems with their aluminum windows and PT wood.
