It will be hot as he$$ in August, probably. It is a nice camp with some pens and hookups... trails are cool! I loved it for stopover/camp when going west.

It is a good spot to ride spring and fall. There isn't a lot of shade on the trails. Nice campground. I have been there a couple times the last 2 years. This is the Smoky Hills of central Kansas. Definitely a spot to check out, Horse thief canyon is pretty cool, ( for Kansas riding anyway ) I am not sure I would go in August, but I am sure many people do. Ride early mornings or evenings. Several creek crossings, nice rock formations etc for scenery.
