Currently, my generator starts using the LQ batteries.  How hard would if be to add a independent battery for the generator.  Had an instance last year where  I failed to generate, and then left my fan on all night.  Could not start the generator because I did not have enough amps to crank it.  Or, is it safe to jump the generator and if so, how would I do that.  Thanks in advance for your help.

1) Find a location to mount the battery. Preferably near the existing LQ batteries. 2) Reconfigure the wiring from the LQ batteries to the new generator battery. (starter wiring)3) Install a battery isolator. (This prevents the gen battery from being drained by the LQ draw.) 4) Tap the LQ charging circuit and run it to the isolator then to the Generator battery.Good luck!

I have jumped my LQ battery's off my truck before, and have helped several people do it. You just need to have extra long set of battery jump cables on hand. Use the normal care as when you jump a car.
