We just purchased a new 2014 F150 Supercrew with the 5.0L V8. We absolutely love the truck except for one thing. We are noticing that the truck seems to sway or float in the rear when towing our trailer. The trailer is a 2014 Exiss 3 horse bumper pull and when fully loaded is only about 6,000lbs. The truck is equipped with the tow package including integrated break controller and sway/traction control. We aren't seeing the trailer sway at all but the truck doesn't feel right. It does seem better when we turn the traction control off, however the manual says not to do that.We did not have this issue when pulling the same trailer with our old Chevy with a Duramax. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem? Thanks,

Is the trailer level or slightly higher in the front when loaded? If it's low at the hitch, it will sway. Are the truck's tires aired at their max allowable pressures? Your Duramax had a higher weight carrying capacity than your 150 does. The tire's weight ratings between the two trucks also differ. The 150 will "squat" more on its suspension loading, than your previous truck, regardless of its rated towing capacity. This will result in a more weight loading of your trailer's front axle, which can cause swaying. If you have an adjustable ball mounting, try raising it up a few inches. A final fix would to install higher weight rating rear tires and air bags or Timbrens.

The max trailer weight for a F-150 is ~7,500-7,900 range. You're pulling a lot of weight. I'm guessing it has P rated tires. Might consider changing to LT tires.

Are you using a weight distribution device?
