I have a trip planned to Flying R in Missouri. Mapquest shows best route for us is through Little Rock to Searcy Arkansas, on into Bald Knob where we take Hwy 167 to Cherokee Village and then Hwy 63 to West Plains, Missouri. Is anyone on here familiar with these roads? I think we will be ok to Searcy/Bald Knob, just wondering about Hwy 167 and Hwy 63 as they look a little winding.

Nice camp/nice people/good trails/tack,ice, snacks, and food available....NO to West plains, too far. Find Hwy 181 from Hwy 14 east out of Ava, MO, go north on 181 til sign turn back west on AF (or AA?) sign for Flying R w/ cabins etc.... go to Google Maps for better direction.. can go up through Harrison, Ark. (Hwy7 to Hwy 65 then east on Hwy 14 to 181 north)

Hmmm well I live in north east Texas so going up Hwy 65 is out of the way since I will need to go east a good ways from there. Looking at the map, from Little Rock, shortest way is stay on I-30 to Searcy/Bald Knob, and then up 167 to 63 into West Plains, and then I have directions to camp from West Plains. I see you live in Missouri, and I only wanted to know how Hwy 167 and Hwy 63 were for trailer travel. Just looking at the map they really dont look worse than Hwy 65, which I have driven several times.

Thank you. Hwy 167/87 goes from Bald Knob, Arkansas through Ash Flat to Cherokee Village, Arkansas, where we pick up Hwy 63 north into Missouri and on up to West Plains. We will be going the second week of June for a riding competition at Flying R. Its about 430 miles to camp and I hope to drive it in one day, although I know that second part will be slower than I-30.

I went there recently and had a good time. The riding was not as "rough" as we normally like but it was not bad. The campground and host we great. We came from Louisiana thru West Plains and the only rough road was a right hand turn ( I think onto MO181 ) that was steep but with patience can be done. The roads were good. Have Fun
