I am looking for corner post insulators similar to the photo I have shown, except I have steel pipe corners and braces, not wood. So, instead of a lag bolt style screwing into a wood post, I will drill through the steel pipe post. I need the rod threaded to accept a washer and nut on the back side. I cannot find anything made specifically for my purpose. I can buy the donut style insulators, but I am not sure where to source the rod. Does anybody have any ideas as to what I could use?

I have not seen anything at TSC, either in store or online that is made for round steel posts. If gard or anybody has a link or description I would be interested..The insulator from Home Depot is on the right track. I am using Electrobraid fence, so I think a roller would be best. I am not sure if the rope will slide around that glass well enough. I might go look at that in person..I thought about bending all thread into the shape I need, but my experience with all thread odds that it bends tip easily to keep its shape. I'm not sure the tension of the fence won't just deform the shape I want.

Found these, but they are kind of pricey, and the smallest I can find them is 1/2-inch bolt diameter, which is a bigger hole than I was hoping to have to drill.

Eye bolts are available in many diameters and lengths. It would be an easy matter to heat the end of the ring and open it into an "L" shape. Some basic post bending heat treatments, would make the metal rod rigid enough to prevent most normal deformities.

I figured I would update this thread. I ended up going with Electrobraid's corner post insulators. I just used some #12 Tek5 self-tapping screws to attach them to the steel pipe posts. They bore the existing hole in the plastic insulator a little bigger, but they seem to be really sturdy insulators.

Hi! Just found this site while searching for a solution to my fencing problem. I'm in the same situation. I also have steel corner and brace posts. I have been searching for a solution just like what you came up with, a simple screw in corner insulator. The only thing is, I need it for 14 gauge smooth aluminum fence wire, and I think your solution is only rated for electric rope. Does anyone know of a company that makes something like this, except for wire fencing? Thanks

If you are just using regular smooth wire, I would think those Electrobraid insulators would work. I would not use them with high-tensile wire, though.
