Can anyone tell me about Exiss trailers? Are they any good ? What problems do they havre? I am looking to buy a 4horse slant with rear tack and dressing room. I welcome any comments. The trailer is a 2001.

I have an '02 3-horse Exiss Event with a weekender package that I bought when it was about 4 yrs old.  I really like my trailer.

Yes, it has had roof leak issues, but this trailer sits out 24/7, and I blame myself for not checking it yearly and doing preventative maintenance.  The only other issue I've had is the interior of the dropdown windows rotting out.  Fortunately, I am friends with a handyman who took them apart and rebuilt the interiors for me.  They look and operate good as new.  It sure beat buying new windows!

This trailer hauls great and has been just fine for me.

I have a '01 2 horse with a full weekender package. I bought it new. The issues I have had: The drop down window fell off. The hinges broke and it fell off in my hands when I tried to close it some years ago. Exiss replaced both windows at no cost to me.The LQ door rotted out from the inside, then I discovered the drop down windows did the same thing. I took apart and fixed all of them. The only roof leak I have had is a badly installed replacement roof AC...not the trailer's fault. This has been a basically sound, fun little trailer. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an older one...not sure about the newer models. I am on my 5th remodel of the LQ and don't have any plans for this trailer to leave my hands.

We have an 01 Event 3h SL with a Sierra Weekender installation. It has been absolutely trouble free and a pleasure to own. Any trailer brand that has holes in the roof for mechanicals is subject to leaking, regardless of brand. Every trailer has required maintenance, and when failing such, can suffer from problems.

We have two other brands of trailers, and without starting a contentious thread, I find many of the Exiss's features to be far superior to those of our other well known brand. We looked long and hard to find our Exiss trailer, driving across a few states for purchase. We are very pleased with our "keeper".

I have two Exiss trailers, an 01 3 horse with a LQ and an 03 Stock Combo, I think they are both awesome trailers. I think the older Exiss horse trailer are a great value, I love my 01.

I have an 06 Exiss Event 4 horse with 14' shortwall and 10' slideout. I've owned it since new. The reason we bought an Exiss was because we had a camper we needed to trade in and the Exiss dealer was the only one that would do so. With that being said we love our trailer. I put a lot of miles on our trailer each summer and its held up amazing. The LQ is beautiful. We've done some upgrades ourselves. My hubby is a pretty handy guy. I put the trailer and semi in a building when not in use. That helps a ton. Take care of stuff, don't abuse it and it'll last a long time. I should also say my friend bought a trailer about the same time as I did but she got a Sport instead of an Event. It was a POS compared to mine.

I have an 03 Exiss Event 3h with 8ft LQ. No issues with the trailer itself. I have replaced the fridge and ac unit. I lived in it full time for 3yrs. It has held up well. If I was going to buy another trailer it would be an Exiss.

I bought my 2000 Exiss Event 3 H weekend with midtack in 05...it was used but in really shape. It sits out all year long and used fairly heavily in the summer. I have replaced caulking on the roof to fix some leaks ( remember it does sit out) its held up well. No problems with hinges, door, frame, latches. Windows are still tight and sealed. Have done some work on brakes (normal) and repacked bearings ( normal) but really..how much more can i expect? I would consider another Exiss.

We have a 2001 Exiss Event  8 wide 3 H with a 10' short wall LQ.  It has been a pleasure to own, and we have pulled it from Arkansas over the Rockies, took it elk hunting with pack mules, taken it to shows, deer camp, etc.  Very pleased as it has suited our needs very well.

To the original poster:

I failed to welcome you as a new member when I posted my first response.  Welcome!

I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding Exiss trailers, if I'm able to do so.  There are several members that are wonderful and full of great information that can help you, too.  To further assist you, you may want to do a search on Exiss trailers as this is a topic that has been covered many times.  You might find information in an older thread/post that will be of interest/benefit to you.

Hope this helps!

It's been a long time since I have posted....  However we just purchased a 2011 8314 Sierra interior Exiss.

WowZer is this thing full of creature comforts.

The horses also seem to do just fine.

I will say that there is a noticeable difference in the materials used from our 2004 Sooner.  Our Sooner seemed to have a much thicker and more solid skin where the Exiss is the very opposite. I sense technology and costs of building have caused this.  Although, the folks at Exiss have been great helping us with a few additional accessories and also the Sierra folks are right there to help with modifications.

However nothing that I am going to lose sleep over. Good Luck.
