what is the best total tongue lenght (from body front to tip of tongue) to get the best pull.. I had a 42in and am going to a 32inch.  Does anyone have experience with this especially if pulling with 30ft Motorhome.  Thanks

IMO, the shorter the better, but there is a lot more to this than just the tongue length. Distance from ball to trlr axles, overhang after the last axle, load placement, width, toter axle distance to hitch ball, etc, etc all calculate into pulling ease.

If you go shorter, it will be a little easier to back up, but you might/probably will lose turning radius. That is dependant on shape of nose of trailer.

When we had a motor home, we put the weight distribution hitch on it and that would be highly recommended. It made a lot of difference and I would not have this set up without it.

The tongue length depends on the trailer design...also, if you you plan on towing with a motor home, makes sure that the hitch you have installed can handle the loads...
