We are in the process of ordering a new 3 horse Cherokee Horse Trailer (with 7'10" deluxe package) with a/c & heatstrip, power awning, power jack, and electric from Tobruk trailer sales in Tennessee. You can see on the Cherokee site what the deluxe package entails.Just wanted to say so far dealing with Dave from Tobruk and Cherokee themselves has been great. Can't wait to get it, we plan on finishing out the interior ourselves. I've been reading alot of posts about what everyone has done when finishing out their own LQ's. Thanks for all the great ideas! Can't say enough good things about Tobruk, they have been very helpful and informative about what we may and may not need to include on the trailer. Will post more info and pics when we get it.

So, after 7 weeks from placing the order with Cherokee we still don't have our trailer. It was supposed to be shipped this week. Got a phone call this morning from Tobruk Trailers advising me Cherokee built the wrong size trailer. There have been a couple other issues I'm not very happy with. Now it's going to be another 4 to 5 weeks for them to build another one. The last one took 7 weeks. We've already had to impose on friends for one horse trip because we were told the trailer would be ready, now we have another trip we have to cancel. I am not happy. Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like a discount from the manufacture is in order. Write a respectful letter to the dealer with courtesy copy to the manufacture. Give them a few options to correct the issue 1. Place your trailer on the front of the assembly line. 2. Discount the purchase price 3. Cancel the order.Good Luck

Still no trailer. Tobruk trailer sales - the dealer I'm going through - advised me the delivery date is supposed to be the 16th of September. Cherokee offered to upgrade the size of the awning from 12 to 16 foot, put aluminum wheels on the trailer, and free delivery for building the wrong size trailer. They also took $25.00 off a swing out saddle rack upgrade. In the mean time Boulevard Bank, the lender the first loan was through, (that had to be cancelled because of the wrong size trailer being built) deducted the first payment from my checking account. Even though the loan paperwork had been cancelled through Southeast Financial in plenty of time for that not to happen. Still waiting to get my money back on that. And I was told the interest rate on the new loan would be a full percentage point higher for a trailer I should have been able to take on our camping trip this past weekend. Instead 2 of us had to sleep in our 2 horse bumper pull, not insulated or finished, trying to cool it off with a window a/c in 100 degree heat. I probably would have cancelled the trip but had put a deposit down months in advance. Didn't fair too well, my friend got heat stroke, we didn't even ride that day, and she had to stay in our friends LQ.

Even after all your woes, it will be worth it in the end. Sounds like nice upgrades to compensate for the errors. We use a 3-horse Cherokee for our day trailer. And this is the second one we have owned.... never should have sold the first one with the small LQ as I could have used it when I go camping by myself instead of hauling the long LQ. But hindsight is 20/20.
Hope all arrives well for you to enjoy fall trips.

The rate would be discouraging. In the biz and rates sure could have risen 1% in the last month for them. They might be able to lock the rate somehow or close the loan even. Might call the lender again to see as rates appear to be on an upward trend...but who knows.....
