It's been awhile from the time of owning a Ford and I just got a 05 F350 dually and the door sticker says all "E" rated tires should be set to 60lbs air pressure. So I am wondering if you all with dual rear wheels go with your truck recommend air pressure when towing a 5th or goose? My last truck a 99 F350 dually (I believe the same 60lbs was stated on the door), I set my back to 80 and the fronts to 70, wrong or not I never had a tire problem.

Now with that said, my 02 Chevy 3500 gives me a 70lbs in the back tires and 60 in the front, I do tow with that recommendation, with no problem. At least the pressure is a bit closer to the tire's max of 80 compaired to the Ford.

When I'm towing, I keep all 6 tires at the max pressure for the tire.

Many dually owners use air pressures that are recommended by what their axle weightings are at a scale. So they would vary from truck to truck and the actual load you are carrying.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Gard, you wouldn't happen to have a chart that covers 17s? This truck is running 245/75/17... Max load single is 1450@80 and max is 1320 for duel @80 (per the side wall info on the tire)

I will just to the math for the trucks max capacity and see what I come up with.
