Ok, I have a 2012 Twilight trailer and we are having issues with the brakes. We don't think it's the control box in the truck because it works just find with other trailers we have. It just flashes trailer failure. We thought is was in the plug and changed that out and we get the correct readings when we test the wires? Sometimes it will work for a min and then go back out. Who here knows what might be going on?

I would also check the electrical connection where the trailer's brake wiring goes into the individual axles' brake assemblies. It sounds as if you have a momentary connection that is broken by vibration or wire movement. The worse case scenario would be a broken wire within its insulation.

Ok,thanks. It just sucks because we actually haven't used the trailer a lot. It's still under warranty but the dealer is 4 hrs away. It would cost more for us to go there than for us to just start buying parts.

On our Ford, we had a problem where the controller showed a problem with the trailer connection. It was a bad ground in the trailer wiring. There was enough of a connection to keep the lights going, but not enough to satisfy the controller that we had good brakes.

Ok, worked all day looks like the trailer is fine. Hooked it to my dads truck and the trailer brakes work. We can hook a different trailer up and no issues. Could it be our controller? The readings are all good so why is not working on the trailer? At this point were just 4 .

How are the trailers grounded?  If either the truck or the trailer is depending on the ground through the hitch this may explain the issues.  A ground should be a separate wire through the plug and trailer cable.  Brakes require much more current than lights.
