I have been told of someone that is selling a 1999 Keifer built three horse that is about 24 ft long. Aluminum trailer. My pickup is a single cab F250 gas engine single axle. Would my pickup be able to handle this trailer ok? I only haul two horses and looking for a trailer for camping and this one is real reasonable (I think) for $5000. I currently pull a 16 ft Calico stock combo and it's just like not back there. I do have a brake controller in my truck. Thanks bunches..

100

Is the trailer a GN? If so how long is the short wall? What does it weigh? You should look up the tow cap. of your truck, I pulled a 4 1/2 sw 3 horse gn with a 3/4 ton and the weights were fine, but traded for a drw one ton truck for stability, just feels better going down the road.

But what kind of engine is it? My F250 was the XLT (long bed plus super cab) and it had the 460 big block engine with 7.5LMy current truck is a diesel...love it! (the other one was a gas guzzler, but it was a work horse!) We now have a F350 (1 ton) and it can haul anything.A 24 foot ON THE DECK? Or nose to tail? Sounds long for a 3 horse (I'm assuming gooseneck trailer) so maybe it has a long wall in the dressing/LQ area? Does it have alot of heavy stuff in it?Agree about checking the weights on your tow vehicle. But a good F250 should be able to haul it, if it's all aluminum.
