I have a 3 horse 8ft. shortwall LQ, Adams trailer. While towing with a 2006 F 350 diesel 6 L sometimes while accelerating the truck feels like it burbs. Only does this while towing and accelerating. At first I thought I may have some bad fuel but it has been doing it for the past 10 to 15 fill ups. Felt like some water hit the plugs, slight hesitation...Dealer says nothing is showing on computer. Please any help or advice appreciated.... Thanks

It is not water. Water will blow the tips out of the injectors. I woulds suggest changing the fuel and air filters as well as giving a good dose of Power Service or any diesel fuel conditioner.

I also know the 6L has a problem with the tranny that has it buck around 45 to 50mph, depending on the vehicle, while pulling. We had that with our F250. You had to punch it up over that or slip below it. Some articles we found on the net found people that had it bounce so much it caused an accident. Design flaw. It was a pain. Our new F350 with 6.7L does not have that issue.

We started having trouble with our 2006 F350 6.0L a few weeks after the warranty expired. Best fix we came up with was to replace it with a 6.7!! Best move we made.

Like others have said, start with replacing your fuel filters. You have two. Mine get replaced every 12k miles or so, and when I run long, I can sure notice a difference in the before and after replacement performance. The lag in acceleration when the fuel filters are dirty could sure be described as a sort of burping feeling.

I have an 05 Chevy 3500 with an 8.1 gas motor that is doing the same thing with no idiot lights on. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't get it to do anything and I had them check the fuel filter and they told me it does NOT have an inline fuel filter.. Getting a little frustrated since I've been doing a fair amount of hauling between VA and KY the last couple of months with my 4 horse trailer, hauling furniture and horses. The check engine light will flash when I'm pulling the mountains and it starts hesitating. Light goes off again after a bit more driving. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You might start saving for a fuel pump. I think your filter is built into your pump. Also, do NOT run your fuel levels down in your tank below about 1/4. Your pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank, and if overheated can fail at a very unpleasant place. This is also true of your automobile. do NOT run your tanks empty, or even real low. It can suck dirt, water, rust, and all knind so nasty beasties, into your fuel system, clogging filters, and needing water drains and filter changes frequently.
