I read over the older post on these. My SO left it up to me if I want 2 2000 Honda's in parrel or 1 3000 Honda. I know with going with the 2 I give up my electric start. Any other down sides of going with 2 2ooo's.

I own 2 of the 2000 and have been very happy. They are extremely quite compared to other generators but in my opinion the 3000 is quieter than the 2 2000s.

I guess its really not down sides if you do your own maintenance, but double work all around... 2 oil changes, 2 gas tanks to fill, 2 spark plugs to maintain, but really all boils down if it works for you.. its right

We thought on the farm it would be easier to load up just one when we needed it to run something instead of the weight of the 3000. And with 2 2000 it gives you 4000.
