My question is what footwear are you using to keep your feet dry on rainy days??? I like pleasant weather for riding as well as the next guy, but to reach some trail riding goals I sometimes end up riding in heavy rain. I use to buy rubbers to put on my western riding boots, but don’t see them advertised any more. The waterproof leather boots, still need a few days to dry out after a rain, which means extra pairs for backup. I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks

Just what I was going to suggest~chaps and hooded stirrups. But while riding with a friend and her new horse in warm weather on an out of state camping trip, her horse took a plunge which soaked her new Ariats. Luckily, a lady rider came to the rescue with a boot dryer. Pretty handy and something I'd never seen before.

Snow seal your boots and use tapaderos, and continue to ride.

I find my boots get the wettest from the water running off my raincoat and chaps and dripping on the boots. Taps and chaps are not going to stop this. The water still drips right off the chaps and onto the boots.

I'm in the same boat as you are.  Good boots. sno seal or other water proofing and then rotate the boots.

I have a pair of tall boots made out of rubber and neoprene.....not good in warm wet weather but superb in cold wet weather. (Brit by Muck Boots) Might take a look at various winter boots to see if there are any that might suit your needs. Also there are quite a few boots (mostly english style) made out of faux leather, which are quite waterproof. I wear english boots with jeans as well as riding pants, whatever is comfortable and works.....and my tack is a conglomeration too for the same reason. Hope this helps.
