While shopping at Cowboy Christmas in Vegas I came across an amazing product. It's a remote deadbolt lock for my tackroom door. Never seen anything like it. I definaty plan to buy one after Christmas. I will never rely on a padlock on my door again. We lost over $6000 in saddles & bridles last spring. Can't afford to go thru that again. You can find info online if interested, just google Invizilock. Had to share my excitement!

http://invizilock.com/ One wonders how many frequencies they have available for the lock system?

I would hope it used a rolling code number like garage door openers; they're all on mostly the same frequency. The price seems a little high for what amounts to a $60 linear actuator and a $50 after market keyless entry system. It's given me the idea to build my own for our camper.

Is it run by an internal battery or does it need to be hooked up the trailer's electrical system? I couldn't tell.

I am quite sure it is a rolling code similar to garage door openers, but I have emailed the manufacture for the exact specifications.

Regarding the price being a "little high" our products are made with high quality materials and go through testing to ensure you are getting the value you paid.

As far as building one for your camper, we are currently working on a model that is safe to be installed in living quarters. At this time we highly recommend not to install an INVIZILOCK or your own device due to the potential dangers.

Thank you very much for your comments

Yes, the INVIZI-LOCK needs to be hooked up to the electrical system of your trailer. If you have any more questions please feel free to email or call us we are happy to discuss this with you.

No I'm not building one for my living quarters, I'm going to build it for my tack room.

I'm wondering how effective this lock is when you have a removable center post in the rear of the trailer.  I discovered I can lock my tack room with a padlock, step inside the horse compartment and "release" the center post by reaching over and under the tack room wall.  That allows the center post to swing free of the trailer frame and opens the tack room door, even with the padlock fastened.  It would seem that you would need a fixed (non-removable) center post for the invizilock to fully work.

I now padlock both my tack room door AND my horse entry door when my trailer is unattended.  (I NEVER lock the horse compartment door when the horses are loaded.)

Interesting...I'll have to try that. My center divider won't come straight out though, it has to be released and leaned inside about 3 inches then leaned to the left or right to clear the attachment point. I suppose you could always weld or otherwise attach metal to prevent access to the latches from reaching over the wall.

You would need to make a small modification, to make the rear door that is used for horse entry/exit stationary. You would install anchor bolts top & bottom on non tack room door to be used when you were wanting to secure the tackroom door with the Invizilock and mount a steel plate on the inside edge for the remote deadbolt to extend thru.
