Doesn't say  anything about the accident or how it happend. Just that they had to euthanize 3 horses.

That has to be considered a bad day when you have to put down 3 of your horses, plus the emotion of dealing with the property damage of a major accident

Just read a couple more articles on the topic. Just 5 miles from destination. According to one paper, the groom was driving when a vehicle pulled right out in front of him

    Such a tragic loss.

Additional information is available at the link below. Devastating to think your horse survives a wreck like that and you think they will be fine in a few weeks and then they take a turn for the worse.

One of the articles in the below link says the driver that pulled out in front of them "didn't see the trailer." How the HECK could you not see a trailer being pulled that hauls 6 horses + gear?? I'd say they need some darned GLASSES  or an update on some!11

Chances are the driver did see them, just didn't want to be inconvenienced by having to drive behind them or wait for them to clear the intersection. In these articles and video it states the driver of the car ran a stop sign and was driving with an expired license. http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/18659949/olympic-hopeful-horses-die-in-... http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/18659949/olympic-hopeful-horses-die-in-...

Sorry to hear of the loss of any horses in accident. Glad no people were seriously hurt and here's hoping one of the surviving horses, Hanni can fill the big shoes the others left behind.<><>

Just horrible. My heart goes out to the owners and the barn. Very scary as well as I was traveling with my horse to Fort Mountain in Chatsworth that very same day. That was a huge rig and truck and it is amazing that another vehicle toppled it. Does anyone know what the offending driver was driving? I did not hear in the news brief nor did I read it in the article. Again my heartfelt condolences to the folks who lost their horses.

Just read the article and watched the video that Yvette provided. Just makes me sicker to learn that the driver who caused the wreck ran a stop sign. The pictures of that trailer on its overturned side  just tear at your heartstrings.
