I need the experts advice! Have a 1991 Chevy C2500 series truck with 5.7L, V8 engine, extended cab and short bed, 4wd. Automatic tranny. Just bought a Lance cab-over camper that states that it weighs 2000k. The truck supposedly weighs 4100k. The GCVW on truck is 7200k. Well, took the truck and camper in to the scale and it weighs all in total 7500k. Haven't weighed the truck yet without the camper. The manual on truck states that the rear axle weight ratio should not exceed 4410k. Want to also tow a boat behind as well. Total weight of boat is maybe around 3000k. Tongue weight maybe 150 lbs.  What would you suggest for the truck? Air bags or overload springs? What do you think of the Super springs? WDH as well? And what brands would you suggest? Or, should I get a new truck?( Hopefully not the answer)Thanks!

Well you are OVER the GVWR of your truck by 300 lbs already and I'm assuming you did NOT have all your supplied etc on board...

Fuel tank was full and water tank in camper full. My dad will be mostly the only occupant in the vehicle. ( His hobbies are fishing and remote control airplanes)So, not a whole lot more weight.

That is "catch and release" fishing. So, no fish weight upon return trip.

Be sure to check the weight ratings and build dates on those truck tires... Can't really go by whats on the sticker inside the door... As Gard said, Timbrens or for more money a set of Firestone "Ride-Rites"...
