I've never owned a Haggis saddle but I've heard nice things from the people who do. There are several nice Trooper saddles on the market and you'll never ride a more comfortable saddle.

the Jack Haggis saddle is the very best of the trooper saddles; I had one a number of years ago and sold it (big mistake) and finally got another one, got the regular bars and the medium size.....use it to trail ride and to show when doing "casual" shows.......I will not ever sell this Haggis saddle...................

You are suspended above the horse's back. I've heard people say that they didn't like not having contact with the horse but it never bothered me. One thing for sure, there's not much to them so if things start happening, staying on top is little harder than riding a western saddle.

My husband bought 2 Haggis saddles and loves them. I rode in one a little while last weekend and I tend to have trouble with my seat bones in a saddle but the Haggis saddles were quite comfortable.

I agree You are setting high off the hores so if they get spinning or something like that,its hard to stay in saddle ,Seen my wife come off a couple of times, But she loves the ride she and the horse get from it,just be careful with new horses

I like the new saddle, the way it looks and the way it fits the horse.Just like the others have warned out sits different and I don't feel as safe. It will take me awhile to get use to.My horse moves a lot better with it and it is comfortable.

I was lucky to meet Jeff Haggis at a dog event and he helped fit me and my horse, both. My Tucker Montreal was great for me, but didn't fit my horse very well. Jeff made some recommendations and built us a very nice saddle. I can ride for hours and not be sore (i'm pretty old and gived out, too) no more head tossing and objecting from my horse, either. When new, the Haggis rides high, but with hours on it, it settles lower. We ride in all kinds of conditions on all kinds of terrain, my horse has tripped and shied but I never came off the trooper Love my Haggis!

The only time I ever came off a Haggis was many years ago when I decided to do an emergency dismount (bad decision on my part, should have stuck thru the bucking fit). Since then I have ridden thru all kinds of stuff. Have never felt insecure in a Haggis saddle.
