I think I read here that one of the Thetford's has an easy empt option.  I did a search and didn't find a model recommendation.

Any recommendations of a flushable porta potty would be appreciated.

Thanks Paul.  Those really are a nice idea and a cheap option.

My decision was between installing a small bathroom or going with a Porta Potti so I'm thinking something more standard, although more expensive, might be better for me.  I'm thinking a Thetford 465 with electric flush.

That was the one I was thinking of.  Do you like the electric flush?  Is is easy to empty and clean with no leaks?

Thanks.

We used one for years similar to the Coleman model in an 8' truck camper that didn't have a bathroom and kept it on the floor in the closet.  Worked great! That was many years ago & they didn't have anything back then with an electric flush but I assume that would require a battery of some sort?

We like the Thetford.  I have never seen the electric flush.  We use one that has a manual flush and usually 2 pumps on the manual flush is all that is required.  I wouldn't see a great deal of value in electric flush as they all appear to be the same basic design except the type of pump.  With my luck the battery would be dead when I most needed it.

When we purchased ours we looked at the weight of the waste tank when full and how easily it could be handled by the wife when dumping was required.

I love that bumper dumper - lol.  That is great!  What happens if you forget to take it off?  lol.  Expecially with a gooseneck, you can have your own little outsid bathroom lol.  I have never seen that.

On the electric flush, it requires 6 AA batteries.  It seems that Thedford has an older style flush, a newer piston style flush, and the electric flush.  It is said somewhere that the electric flush is most effective. I actually don't know if that comparison was made to the piston flush or the older flush type.

Thanks for all the information.

We also used the Thetford with the electric flush and we loved it.  The batteries lasted all season, and sometimes into the next.  The two separate compartments kept the odor down and it had a built in dumping tube.  Very easy to use.

Ditto...never had a problem with the electric flush and batteries last a long time. For $120 it's an inexpensive alternative to a toilet and holding tanks....or pooing in a bag.

we have a Fiamma Brand ( Bi-pot), purchased through the JC whitney catalog, on sale right now for $79.99. have used it for two summers without a problem. They have a large and extra large capacity - that's why we picked this one. Has a 5 gal reservoir. We used a coleman for years, 2.5 gal capacity (I think), with two people using it for a weekend it could be pretty full.
