I gotta vent!! I was wondering if anyone has had a hassle buying a new horse trailer? My husband and I went to the the only dealership in the Salt Lake City area that sells Logan Coach horse trailers, Utah Trailer Source, we were pretty excited to get one and finally saved the money to pay cash. We of course wanted it right away but we knew that ordering custom would take some time. The salesman told us 2 weeks and we were thinking how great that was, wow 2 weeks! Well we paid a 10% down and made the order. after a week we put our currant horse trailer on the local web classifieds and it sold in about 2 hours, no problem right? Well 2 1/2 weeks go by and we have not heard back so we call and get the "I will check on it and call you right back" response, so we wait a few days and no call back so we call again. and get the same answer " I will check on it and call you back". Finally we call at 3 and a half weeks and the salesman tells us that Logan Coach do not have the proper axles in stock so it will be another 2 weeks. so we wait.... at 4 and a half weeks we call and they tell us that the Co. that makes the windows for Logan quit making them and it will be another 2 weeks. So far most of the summer is going by and we have no horse trailer to get our horses out and ride. The salesman and the owner both keep giving my husband the total run around. My husband by now is fuming and the owner of the dealership tells my him to call the Logan factory. He talked to a man named Scott who is very surprised to hear that we were promised a trailer in two weeks because that kind of turn around is impossible especially on custom orders, he was also surprised to hear that he had no axles in stock. Well by now my husband is livid and does not want anything to do with the dealer/salesman because he no longer trusts them after all the lies from them. There were other issues about the windows and the "whiz proof" floor we ordered that were not disclosed at time of ordering and we are not sure if it is the dealership or a manufacturing problem. If not for Scott at Logan Coach Trailers being upfront and totally honest with us we were going to cancel our trailer and get the deposit back. After receiving our trailer we needed to order screens for the large windows we ordered for the tail side, the salesman again told us he would check on them and call us back...well after one week they did not get back to us. We called the owner of Utah Trailer Source and he said there were problems with Logan's supply or something, so my husband called BS! He called Scott once again and he put us through to the parts dept and within 20 min our parts were ordered and should be shipped today! whew!!!..... P.S in my husbands opinion we have a great new horse trailer from Logan Coach, he always wanted one. He loves it...BUT he thinks no one should receive a commission on this trailer due to the lies and his being deceived about the whole process. If they had of just been honest up front with us this could have been a great experience. We waited a long time for a trailer like this but this experience sucked!.....Thanks for letting me vent

Sorry I will post pics tomorrow, this is a learning curve for me. It is a 4 horse Razor XLT bumper pull and we added 2 extra feet to the tack room.

Sorry for your wait,  When someone is not up front and honest it is very frustrating.

I had to wait for my Outlaw interior, BUT both the dealer (Miller Trailer sales) and Outlaw were very upfront and honest with what was happening and why.   This made the experience for us palatable and WELL worth the extra time..

Logan does make a good trailer and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Is RiverBend out of business? I bought mine from them vs UTS.  I'll have to google and see if they are still around. But I have found that any parts I needed, it was just easier to call Logan directly. They have been great for getting me anything I need.

Always looking for new places to ride. So lets see some photos of trails close by.

Yea Riverbend trailers closed down a few years ago, too bad because I thought Dennis was a decent guy. He had some really nice trailers on his site too! I love the pics you post! I am really trying to learn how to navigate this web page and then hopefully post some pics of my own. Any helpful hints would be appreciated lol!

Missy, Just place your photos on a photoserver ( like Photobucket) and when you type a reply, click on the little picture frame and insert the link address to the photo.  Pretty easy.

how amazingly frustrating for you! I agree its likely the sales dude, not the Logan guy.

I wonder if its worth it to call Logan and lodge a complaint that one of their dealers is being less than honest? because it reflects badly on THEM and they lose sales that way?

I was lucky...my local sales gal (Maggi at the trailer division of Bickford Ford in Snohomish WA) RAWKED. she told me right up front how long it was supposed to be and added laughing that that of course was an estimate. When we hit the tail end of her estimate she called me and told me what was going on, having called the factory herself.

have fun with your new trailer!!! Logans are awesome :) and were high on my list when I was looking :)
