I've thought same about these caution stickers, made no sense to me other then to say "Hey, I'm special!" I had a trucker once call me on the radio to let me know I was leaking water, I said where from, he said the back door, I said buddy, that ain't water.

I've never had a trailer a horse could hang a tail out the back of and water the tail gating cars, but did have a wooden floor they could pee through while parked at the gas pump...Bad drivers aren't just the ones who slide up inside your turn, they're also the ones who think you pulled out in front of them too close and then went deliberately slow with your 4 horse trailer just to tick them off. Had a guy in a cute little red convertible who pulled out and passed me in that situation, but cut in right on my front bumper and flipped me the bird before he took off. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid running him over, and loaded with 2 small kids and 4 horses, I tell you, I had visions of flattened red convertibles for the next 30 miles.

Yeah, real nice (and STUPID) of him.
We were hauling one mare up through the hills to a trainer's once.Pulling a stock type 3H steel trailer.A group of motorcycles went around us on the passing lane but one guy insisted on hanging right to the back left of the trailer.I told my husband that I could see him back there when I'd turn around and look. Why he didn't either go on or back off is beyond me,unless his particular cycle didn't have the power to go around on the hill.
I guess our mare decided that would be a good time to expel some extra water, and, next thing I knew, the guy backed WAAAY off.We saw his buds pulled over at a big parking lot waiting on him. When we got to our destination,I realized the REASON for his backing waaaay off.

It has already been said but it is amazing how many people have know idea my LQ slant load is actually a horse trailer. I don't have "show horses" on the back but it does say "caution horses" and I have the wide turn decal. I drive slower, break sooner and accelerate slower due to the horses, it is not because my truck can't get up and move faster. I have noticed that at times it does cause people to stand off my bumper a little more. Not always but any time it does is a help. You are right, you can't fix stupid, but sometimes having it written on the back of the rig does wake up some drivers to the reason your are driving more cautious. Every advantage I can get, i will take.

This is not the first time I have seen this subject brought up on this forum and I guess I just don't get why the sticker Caution show horses upsets so many people. Why do you even care what someone puts on the back of their trailer. In the grand scheme of things does it really matter. I don't have anything on the back of my trailer, but my brother had the best sticker ever that said "It don't hurt do it in the dirt". My mother was absolutely mortified the day she borrowed his trailer and one of her friends pointed it out to her. The family laughed about it for years.
