Has anyone ever added a tack compartment to a stock trailer?  I am interested in a steel stock trailer that has a three horse slant with a dressing room but I would really like to have a separate compartment for the tack, is that something that is possible?  is it really expensive or difficult?  I was thinking rear tack...  Thanks

It would depend on if you wanted the tack wall moveable and removeable or fixed. The latter would be quite easy and relatively inexpensive to build . A simple framework can be fabricated and welded of steel angle iron, and then surfaced with plywood. Saddle racks can be obtained from a number of sources.

A moveable rack takes some engineering, and would cost more in materials and labour to fabricate, probably 2-3 times the cost of a fixed wall.

Fixed would be fine. I thought it might be fairly easy for someone who welds.  One thing I was wondering about was how to make it sealed.  most stocktrailers don't have a back doors that really seal shut.  any ideas there.  The trailer I am looking at is an Adam stock/horse trailer like this one:

guess you would have to build almost a complete box so it had a separate door??

We have a friend that has a box that he bought and put in.  It has it's own door.  They open the stock gate, then open the tack door.  My trailer is a 3 horse bp, rear tack has its own solid outside door, horse gate is seperate, looks just like a gooseneck from the rear.

Do you know where your friend got the box? Or how he made it? Thanks
