If you lived in the South..SC, NC, GA would it be considered overkill to add fans in the horse area if you have drops on the front and drops on the butt side on all of the horse stalls?

No, not overkill.  Especially if you are stuck in traffic somewhere.  Trailers can heat up quickly in the summer if you are not moving.

I am in the process of adding them to my trailer and I live in VA.  I have been on trips where the highway traffic was stopped due to an accident, that is one of the reasons I am adding them.

Not at all.  Just think about it like this, if you are in traffic, your a/c is not working and the windows are down.  Would you feel better with a fan????

I am adding mounted ones to ours ths year, last year I cheated and bought 2 clip on mounts at Wal-Mart just incase we got stuck in traffic.

I'm in central NC. With the Front and Rear drops down, the horse area is like a run in shed. The roof gets hot, but the air flows through the trailer well. Any trailer I get in the future will have the front & rear drops.
