do yall find that you end up saving money or spending more by buying just a gooseneck trailer and finishing out the lq yourself? i want a lq but dont have all the money for one up front so i figured i could buy a gooseneck and do it over time myself (i know electricians and carpenters and all to help me) any thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

We purchased a used trailer with a finished LQ. A friend of ours liked the combination and the finished trailer. He bought the same make and model trailer, used, in a dressing room version. We then built a LQ for his trailer, whilst using our trailer's interior as a pattern.
We had a total of ~160 man hours, and <$4000 in materials for a fully equipped interior. A similar, professionally installed LQ sells for ~$11,000 +. My friend has now used his trailer for over two years, and the last we spoke, he was delighted.
His total expenditure was significantly less than a comparable unit would sell for, and it includes exactly the furnishings he wanted.
