So I have read Redwrench and a lot of other posts and searched a lot of sites about wiring for trailers but haven't found what I am looking for, thought maybe Gard or Retento could shed some light or I think BarrelRacer said she was pretty electricly inclined.I have a junction box 12V and 110V that I purchased from Jazzsales and I am the proud new owner of a Honda Ei3000. My question is I want to hard wire in the generator but not sure if I should just use a longer 30A extention cord and just pigtail the other end into the junction box. And if so what about if I hook to a shore line. is there a toggle switch that I need to put in the line somewhere so that the incoming power doesn't run back down the other line?? I am not the smartest when it comes to this stuff. I know enough to be very dangerous.Sean

If you "hardwire" the generator to your trailer, You need a transfer switch. Otherwise, when you connect to the utility, the generator will be charged. I don't think the Generator's inverter electronics will like that much.
You will be better served by wiring an extension cord to your 120 volt junction. Buy or make an adapter for the Generator to the RV connector on the cord. Then you'll avoid back-feeding the generator. Plus the generator exhaust will be placed away from the trailer.
