This might seem like a silly question, but I caught myself looking at breaker boxes in the electrical department of Lowes the other day and all I saw were large house breaker boxes (200 amp and such). Where can you find 50 amp breaker boxes? I argued with my husband that 20 amp would be fine, then I even went up to 30, but he wants a 50 amp because I am female and will probably use a bunch of electricity. I will go with whatever.... As long as I can get some electricity before February in my trailer for my planned overnight trip. I just want a light bulb and space heater for that trip.
I googled and only found a few on ebay and I have looked at RV places, but most have stuff to plug your rv IN to and I need an actual breaker box to start my wiring.
FYI- my planned installation of spray foam insulation was delayed due to me breaking my hand a week after buying the trailer. Having Surgery, recovering, state horse show, paying for surgery and now planning for my february fun. But now it is time to start working on my trailer before I decide to leave it a shell! I've gotten kind of used to just piling stuff in and that is BAD!

For my LQ trailer, I bought a small breaker box and then bought the correct size breaker (20 amp). Never had any issues with my 20 amp breaker. We run a/c, lamp, space heater, hair dryer, microwave, and an electric griddle amongst other things. Most camps/fairgrounds only offer 20 and 30amp service so the 50 amp would not be necessary. Make sure to use a GFCI plug as your first or second outlet off the breaker box.
I do not have a converter. I just have my 12v (lights and water pump) and 120v wired seperately except a permanent mount battery charger that only works when the trailer is supplied electricity.
Honestly, In my overnight/day trip trailer, I just use an extension cord and power strip. No outlets to mess with and no breaker box. This also has an a/c, space heater, microwave. Used with hair dryer and lights as well. It's 3ft shortwall dressing room is small enough to be able to get away with this.

Mine is a 2' shortwall so it will be tiny, but I want it to eventually be my "dream trailer" with every comfort I want. So on my little shortwall will be my refrigerator with my saddle rack above it. Install an AC on top- and I'm a serious heat person and quite scared to use any form of gas heat in a trailer ( I about froze in a bumper pull february before last with 20 degree nights, and a down comforter lying down in the tack compartment during a show. I had a buddy heater I used, but that thing uses up the canisters quick! Plus I was scared to sleep with it on so I had to turn it off when I got fairly warm. So 1500 watt heater here I come! I'm not planning on using 12v. There is one light that is already in the LQ, but I'm not putting a cowboy shower in or anything.Going to put me an LCD TV across from the nose on the main wall and put me some surround sound in. I've just got to get every electrical wire where it needs to be before my husband sprayfoams it. Most hookups I've seen are 20/30 amp, but my husband wants to overdo it rather than under-do it. Where can you find small breaker boxes though? I might have to send the hubby over to his electrical supply after one.
