I would not normally post something like this, but it's for a good cause. My daughter, Mahala, is 11 years old and has some mental disabilities...she cannot speak, and does not understand language really well. She rides at Miracles In Motion, a non-profit therapuetic riding center for kids with disabilities. I recently donated a horse to them.
Mahala is in a photo contest sponsored by her orthodontist. The photo that gets the most votes wins an iPad. I would like to ask you to vote for Mahala's photo, because if she wins, we are going to donate the iPad to Miracles in Motion to help as a communications device for the handicapped kids. Here is the link to vote. They will ask for your email and a password (you can make up any goofy password your want) and then send you an email. You will need to click on the link in your email to confirm your vote.
Again, I know this is off topic, but I feel it's for a great cause for a horse organization that helps hundreds of kids. And who can appreciate that more than all of you horse lovers. Thanks.

I hope she does well, we have a Special Needs son and just bought Broc and iPad. It's amazing the things we can do with the iPad it's much better than the $6000 communication devices we have looked at and it cost $500.
Good luck with the contest, I just placed my vote.
Where is the facilty located in IA? I ask because we are in NE.

Thanks soooo much to all of those of you who voted..I really appreciate all your help. Miracles in Motion is located outside of Swisher, Iowa (which is near Cedar Rapids.). Here is their website: I'm on the board of directors, and I also am a sidewalker...love it!

VOTED!
We lived in Iowa-grew up there and I went to college in Cedar Rapids. Small world. We're in Ok. now for a long time. We also have a mentally handicapped son who handles our horses and rides. He is a good horseman. He will be 32 this month... Hope she wins! Keep us informed...
