I'm having a barn buillt and want to install R-11 polyiso insulation in the entire barn. Are there any health problems associated with it? Are there any negatives associated with it. The walls will be covered, but for the ceiling I plan to have the insulation between the trusses and the metal and the insulation would not be covered on the inside. Is this OK in a horse barn and tack room/shop? Or does the polyiso insulating need to be covered on the inside. Since the roof will go on either tomorrow or Monday, a quick reply would be helpful.
Thanks.

you could do a google search or ask the builder. I am not sure what health concerns you are worried about.

It might be something the birds will peck at and leave BB's all around, which will also affect the status of the insulation.

Thanks.  I will ask the builder.  I bought this used and told the builder I was going to.  He approved and is doing the installation.  But, one of the men who works for the seller said that he'd been working with it (no mask or gloves even today) and said that after working with it for three months it has caused him problems with his asthma.  I had done a lot of searching on the net since I got home and it seems that some temporary respiratory problems arise in workers but that seems to be the blow in kind and this is the polyiso rigid boards and I don't *think*  it will be a resipiratory problem,  but it seems that it could be taken care of before the roof in installed rather than after.

If you have asthma and are working with that kind of a product why wouldn't you...oh, never mind.
