Hi,Heading to the Black Hills and would like to ride up Harney Peak. I have been cautioned against this as folks are telling me it's quite a climb and would need a very well conditioned horse, better than the average.Anyone out there that would have input on the difficulty level? I know there are a couple of routes, one less strenuous than the other?ThanksJoan

Have fun out in SD we just got back but we didn't go to Harney peak. We stayed at Broken Arrow Campground and rode there. When they say steep trail it is steep.

I live, camp and ride in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I have been o Harley Peak several times as well as most areas of the Black Hills.

I would be happy to share any information with you that might be helpful. Too much to put in an email. Feel free to call me at 605-787-4385

Hey Traxarlo can I keep our number handy for when we go back out to SD next year? It would be nice to talk to someone else about other trail that you can trailer to that you otherwise don't know about. Plus to have someone that you can talk to about what kind of trails you are looking to ride on and which kinds you want to stay away from give your horses and riders abilities.
