How are you attaching them to the bridle? I folded one around the top of the head piece and tapped it on. Does it help with all files/gnats or just certain ones? Deer files were still landing on my horse's ears. I guess I did not leave enough of the dryer sheet exposed.

What do you suppose is in them? You would think the flies would love them because they smell kinda sweet. I'm going to get a box and go out and hang them on my halter. The deer flies have been obnoxious.

A trail riding friend told us of this idea. We used them for nats (sp) and they work great for them. We just tucked them under the halter/bridle. After putting one on husbands horse, he did not shake his head up and down going down the trail.

Okay, I tried the dryer sheet trick again this weekend. I just put one end under the bridle and left the rest hanging/flopping. Worked much better this time.

I wipe the ears with the dyer sheet before I tuck it under the head stall..I have had much better luck letting it flop around as opposed to wrapping it around the the head stall...I also pin one to the back of the saddle pad..over the rump
