Hi, I've never had a Chevy; but this truck is for sale nearby and seems to be a good deal....50,000 miles, 6.0 liter gas engine, 4wd, 2 owners, local trade; they're asking 16,900. Dealer says he knows the guy who had it first, and he never had any trouble out of it....this is a small town & he (the dealer) is well thought of, so I'm inclined to believe him. 2nd owner was some gal who obviously smoked alot (yuck!); she didn't keep it long; I don't know anything about her experience with it. I'd be using it mainly to pull a 12 ft stock trailer (2600lb) with usually one small horse (700 lb) and occasionally to drive 20 miles to work. Anything I need to know or look out for? Thanks in advance! Lisa

Need a little more info.... Regular cab, ext. cab, crew cab, work truck, LS, LT, classic body style, new body style...?? Suggested retail on a ext. cab, short bed, decked out, LT 2007 classic body style is $23670.00

Check out the Kelly Blue Book... Check off how your truck is equipped and go from there. It's not the gospel, but it will give you a good idea of what to pay.

It's an extended cab. Actually, I was wondering if this model is an "average" truck, or if it's one of those models/years that are full of problems and best to be avoided. Lisa

I've got 3 chevys that year and have not had any issues on them. I don't have the 6.0 engine, but have not heard of any issues with it either.

'07 2500HD 4x4 extended cab with 6.0L gas should be a decent pickup.  Between my dad, brother, and I, we own four 6.0L Chevy 2500HDs.  Two of them have over 200,000 miles on them.  Don't expect to be impressed with fuel mileage, though.  11-12 mpg empty is what I get driving 30 miles each way to work in my '04.  Not sure of they were much better by '07.  Power is decent if you don't compare it to a diesel.

I'd get phone numbers for the two previous owners from the dealer.  If he's honest, he'll have no problem giving them to you.  The low price and lack of info on the second owner raise red flags.  Otherwise--buy it!
