Does anyone know any information on OCD in the pastern p2. I have a two yr old who bumped her pastern when she was approx 6 mo on a two by four. Now she has developed a bump and is off a little at the trot, but not the walk or lope. She is a big girl and we are slowing her growth down and giving MSM. Does anyone know of any miracle cures. I was told this is very rare?Thank you!

My 6 year old mare had it in her stifle. She was out of one of my mares. I never "pushed" her growth. The vet believes it was genetic. I ended up putting her down a year after being diagnosed. Have you had this horse ex-rayed?

Yes, x ray showed in p2 pastern. She hit her pastern hard on a two by four trying to jump over it, when she got out of her stall at a facility. It stimulated some bone growth and thus ocd has occured

We know several folks that have had great success with these OCD pellets on their reiners that have gone on to have good show careers after being diagnosed with OCD.
