Today I was repacking bearings and I took a shot at installing the Dexter "wet bolts" and ez flex equalizers. Even with a known 600 ft-lb impact, some heat from a propane torch, and penetrating oil, I got nowhere. I even dug out a massive 3/4 drive impact.I couldn't see any staking on the threads. What's the secret to getting these apart?

I'm told that a lot more heat can help - MAPP gas or ideally acetylene. I wasn't set up to do that yesterday.

Not much room for cutting, although I could probably get halfway through the nut. Perhaps a partial cut followed by the nut splitter(?)

All 14 nuts were seized the same way. If it turns out to be a laborious process for each one I might just drop this trailer off and let someone use their big service equipment on it.

Cut all those nuts off with the torch, salt and urine has welded it all together.... Go back with new stuff.
