I have friend who is looking at a 1993 Sooner with L/Q; it is all aluminum- can anyone give us any insight as to what to watch/look for in this particular year model of trailer.... It is listed in Texas, LQ is done by Duster; looks to be in pretty good condition.

Sooner is a well noted brand and so is Duster. If it checks out mechanically and the interior is in good shape, your friend may have found a gem. The appliances are 16 years old. Check each one for operation, and expect at least one to fail sometime in the future. Each one can be replaced and updated, at a total cost far less than a new trailer.
The tires should be checked for age and condition, the brakes should be inspected and the bearings repacked. The gas cylinders, if original, may have to be updated/replaced. The exterior lighting can be renewed at a nominal cost.
It could very well, be a good trailer to purchase.
If that is the trailer, it's not that far off on price. It is a 7'6" wide and not 7' as listed! The only thing I did not like is NO MANGERS, but with a midtack it would not be that big of a deal.

Isn't a Sooner Dynasty a FRP trailer? If so check out for delamination any where there is a window, tap with a coin around the window, if you hear a dead sound there is delamination.

I have a '97 Sooner with a weekender done by Duster. I bought it used several years ago. It pulls great and I love it. Be sure to pull the mats and check the floor for any pitting. And like they said above, check out all the LQ goodies. All mine are original and still work. The older Sooners are solid trailers.
