Is there an easy way to remove a jack-knife couch (temporarily)? It would be much easier to get to my water pump and pump in RV antifreeze if I didn't have to be a pretzel to hold the couch up and get underneath?

You will get used to it. It would be more work to remove the sofa. You should be able to reach in and pull out the hose for AF and switch your valves in a few seconds. It always seems a pain but ends up being quick.

Does the front of your couch come off? It makes it much easier. I didn't realize that mine came off until I needed my pump replaced under warranty. Saw my dealer pull it off and just about died when I saw how accessible it was.

I'm trying to remember now, since I have put the trailer away for winter storage. But as I remember, mine has hooks on the top of the front piece that just slip over the top rail. I think you just lift it a little and pull the bottom of the front out. Very easy, takes about two seconds. I'm going over to the other farm later today and will look again to be sure.

We had to remove the jackknife sofa one time to repair a water leak. Mine came off with four easy to reach bolts. It was a lot easier than standing on my head and hoping the sofa didn't come down and cut my head off!
