Has anyone heard that the MANFACTURER is going belly up??? Heard this at a Horse Camp this weekend in Kentucky (from a friend of a trailer dealer). I would appreciate any information on this since I ordered a 2009 Sundowner lq from a dealer who couldn't keep the doors open in this economy. My response time is not as good as when I purchased it vs. service now. Am wondering if this could be the underlying problem. Any info would be appreciated just to settle the nerves.

The best thing to do is pick up the phone and call the Manufacturer in OK direct and not go with "hear say"! I have my trailer serviced at a local Sundowner dealer that also has a larger dealership in another state and he has not said anything about this. They did close a plant up north last winter.

I can reassure you that SUNDOWNER TRAILER MANUFACTURING is not going belly up. We have been a long time dealer; and they like many companies have cut expenses and downsized. They closed their interior plant in Elkhart, Indiana; and now do all of their interior work at the home plant in Coleman, Oklahoma. This was done to save the expense of transporting trailers across country to have interiors put in them; and the expense of running a seperate plant. Sundowner is still owned by the Shipman family; whom founded the company, and continues its operations on the family owned manufacturing facility.
Like Hogtown says: Go to the source for your information; instead of gossip and rumors around trail ride campfires or from talk while hanging on the rail at a show.
