I need to build a base for a jackknife sofa. Typically what height and width?I seem to recall the optional legs are 11 1/2" tall? Need to get a furnace/water tank under it.Don't have the sofa yet, but am laying out the floor on a CAD program...to build cabs and stuff.

I don't know the exact measurements of the couch, because they will vary somewhat from manufacturer to manufacturer. The lengths, widths and supporting structures differ, and are purchased according to the available space.
Many of the seating heights of the couches are ~18" off the floor. When the thickness of the cushion and the structural base are subtracted from that measurement, what is left will be the height of the legs or supporting platform.
They make various flat profile water tanks for this purpose, but a heater may be too large. That's one advantage of a dinette; you have additional storage space under the benches for larger objects.
