I am currently looking to build a new storage building and want to make sure that I make it tall enough if I buy a new trailer. I would probably buy a 3 to 4 horse gooseneck trailer with a living quarter. I would also want an inside height of at least 7 ft. What height should I make the storage building to make sure that most trailers will fit into it? I would want a trailer with an Air conditioner unit on top.

Trailer sits no more than 20 inches off ground, plus 84 tall, plus 15 for A/C, add another 12 for good measure (and, in case you go to 7'6" tall) = 11' opening should be plenty

I need at least 12' for mine, so the plan is 14' when I get the $$ together. Building taller isn't nearly as expensive as wider, longer, or not tall enough to fit.

Allow enough room to jack the trailer off the hitch ball, take into consideration, how much room to clear the truck bed and how much the truck will raise after the weight is off.... I have unhitched and had plenty of clearence to drive away, only to have to raise the trailer a couple days later to be able to get back underneath it. I like them tall shelters.... 16' ain't too high for me.
