I just bought a new twh that is 4 yrs old and he has about 20 small warts on his nose. I was told to give him auremycin for 7 days and this would clear it up but it hasnt. He was very skinny and is now putting on weight and looking much better. My husband calls him ugly but did say today he was looking better. haha! Does anyone know of a good remedy for the warts? I have kept him away from the other 5 horses and i would like to keep him if i can get rid of the warts. Help!please

Oldtimers used liberally cover em with grease, cutting all air exposure off to them, and they would go away.  4 is older than usual for warts, seems like....seems like they generally will go away on their own....

My Foxtrotter colt had them all over his nose as a 3 year old. I did nothing and a few months later they were all gone.

I've heard of pinching them with pliers, covering them with some sort of grease and other old woman  tall tales.  But the best advice I got was  just be patient and they will go away by themself.  You can put up with a few warts for a month or two and let them run their course.

I used grapefruit seed extract, (not grapeseed) available from health food stores.  The warts dried up and fell off leaving pink pretty skin underneath.  My horse had them when she was about 10 months old. I was told that it was something that many young horses get.

They will go away on their own eventually, but if you want them off now the grapefruit seed extract works. So does compound w. So do the freeze sticks available at your local pharmacy.

We call them "dew warts" since they generally occur in the spring when we get a heavy dew on the grass.  They will go away when the weather gets hotter.  If you want to help them clear up faster, try toothpaste...PASTE not gel.  It will speed the healing.

The virus must run it's course usually 10 days to two weeks then they'll fall off.

The best treatment I have found is TeaTree Oil. Comes in a little brown bottle at your local Wally-world, or pharmacy. Used it on a 3 yr old with about 30 small warts all over his muzzle. I am not kidding, after a weekend of treating 2 times/day, they were all gone on Monday!Just dab on with a cotton ball. My husband thought I was crazy to try it, but it worked! Don't cut or shave them off,( could make them spread ) and wear rubber gloves, or just wash your hands good after touching as they are a virus, and just like in humans, some warts do spread thru contact.
