My new trailer sits 18 inches off the ground which I like for clearance but it makes the ramps a little steep.  The mats on the ramp right now are smooth rubber and I was looking to replace them.  I think 4 Star and Equi Spirit has rubber mats on the ramps that almost look like black rubber astro turf and are very slip resistant.  It is almost like black rubber grass.  I did some googleing and didn't find what I was looking for.  Does anyone know where I can buy some real nice anti skid rubber mats?

Call Cherokee and ask them what type of mat they use on their ramps. The ramp mats on our head to head are really rough, I don't think you'll slip on them if they were greased!!

We have a Featherlite trailer and we have the matting like you are talking about on our ramp. It still gets pretty slick especially when wet. I always sprinkle shavings on our ramp to help. I really don't care for the ramp. Our horses have a tendency to want to come off of it sideways.

The matting you're talking about is a type of conveyer belt matting. I'll be able to get the information on it tommorrow and pm it to you.

You will always get a certain amount of slip when the ramp is wet....I had a similar problem with my 2H bp and what I did was glue (contact adhesive) some converyer belt strips across the ramp. It works like a charm even when it is wet. If your ramp is dbl skinned you could even rivit them on.

Good luck
