ok,  I'm wanting to buy my daughter a 2000 chevy 3/4 4x4.  Will her gooseneck hitch go in the new truck?  She's driving a 95 chevy 1500 now.  I think she has a spin in ball on the 95.

In general, if she has an underbed frame mounted hitch with a hole cut in the bed, she will probably need a new frame kit for the new truck

It would depend on the frame measurements of the two trucks, whether it could be interchanged. If the main frame rails are the same distance and profile, it may work on both. A mechanic should be able to quickly measure both and make a determination. Most of the older trucks have a "C" shaped frame, while the newer ones have a hydro shaped boxed rail, which are not interchangeable.

1st off the Gooseneck hitches usually cost around $300 for the parts only. How much is your time worth to un-install the hitch that is rusted in place on the old truck?

How much resale value will you loose trying to sell a used truck with a hole in the bed and no hitch in that hole?

I venture that between your time and the loss of resale, you are better off to just buy the new hitch.

I agree with Painted Horse!  1st off I bet if you look under your 1995 the hitch is going to be a flat plate welded to the top of the frame.
