Is it safe to make a copy of your trailer title and email or send it to a perspective buyer? It has the Vin number etc. With all this talk about trailer scams it scares me.

I wouldn't.
I would contact the manufacturer and get your build sheet and send him that. There is a lot of personal info on the title that my gut says keep private until the sale.
I see no harm in sharing the VIN a perspective buyer can do all the research they need with that alone.

If the buyer is wishing a copy of the title to insure you do own the trailer without leins... Send a copy of a copy. The first copy's address and title number whited out. Hard to read info that isn't there instead of just covered up.
As posted before...
The prospective buyer has your name and the VIN number is all they need.

Does not hurt anything at all. Banks and dealers do it all day long with trailers as well as vehicles..... The only type of scam you will need to worry about is if you let them have the title before you get payment.
The "buyer" is wanting to protect themself as well, they or their bank is wanting to confirm the trailer is what they are told.

I agree, I don't see a problem. The only thing on a title is your name and address and the trailer make model and vin. I've never seen a title with a SSAN, birthdate, Mothers Maiden Name, Bank Account # or other really personal info.
If you are concerned about personal info. White out/Black out your name and address. But they probably already have your name and phone # from your sales ad.
Anybody walking past your trailer in a parking lot can write down the VIN number, the make and model. that's all right on the outside of the trailer and on the mfg stamp.
