Has anyone been to RockyHollow Horse Camp in Troutdale, Virginia? If so, how is the campground? Riding? The last 2 years we stayed at High Country and they have sold and closed.

I agree with the previous post. The sites are terraced into the hillside due to the steepness of the area where the campground is located. The barn is located about half way down the hill between the 2 campsite areas and the bath house is modern and clean. Be prepared to be walking up hill and down to the barn and bath house. As per their website, they do offer several direct access trails to the National Forest that leads to the Mt. Rogers area. However, you will still be riding several miles over rough and rocky trails to get up to the actual Mt. Rogers areas. If they have had rainy weather, some of the trails also tend to be boggy. Mt. Rogers is a beautiful and unique area but be prepared for the extreme weather changes and the rocky trails. It is also a good idea to have a map of the area and a GPS.

Do you have a website? When I do an internet search it takes me to a site that tells about High Country Horse Camp being closed.
