I went riding over the weekend and lost the key fob and key to my F250 Superduty Truck. The key fob has an alarm system and remote start (all factory installed).  Does anyone know how much it'll cost to replace and where I go?  I'm assuming I go to the Ford Dealer.  I have an extra keyfob & key, but I'll need to replace the lost one.  Thanks :-)

Try ebay.  I bought some replacement ones for our Yukon about a year ago.  They even came with programming instructions.  They were factory originals and alot cheaper than going to the dealer.  Dealer was gonna charge a programming fee of about $50 for pressing acouple of buttons.

I bought some extra Key FOBs off Ebay for my wifes Ford Explorer much cheaper than the dealer.

Depending on how computerized the car is, some you just can't buy off the internet.  I had to pay $130 for replacement key for Infiniti,  No locksmith could help me. I had to go to the dealer.

I know my 2006 F350 doesn't have anything too special about it's key/Fob.  So i suspect your truck won't be much different.  But who know what the dealer installed.

I dropped my keyfob then stepped on it while attampting to pick it up.  Doh.  I could not believe how stupid that was.  Anyway, the replacement was $75.00

ebay is the best bet for the fob, but down here you can take proof of ownership and information for the truck to the dealer and they will get you a key for under 20 bucks!

Something to think about, now, is to lock the truck keys in the trailer someplace; then put a key to the trailer in a magnetic box and tuck that away someplace on the trailer or truck while riding.

Gas cap covers, tail pipes, inside a wheel well/ fender, running board, hitch, etc.

I always tell riding partners where the key(s) to my rig are in the event something happens to me so that they can arrange to have my rig driven home or - if they rode with me, they can get the horses home.
