Some updated photos... Still not done, lots of work to do up front in the tack room, kind of making it a "sleeping area", so I have to add the fun stuff like, cabinets, TV, Radio and so on... I still have to get the cross members welded in so I can do the floor, I hope this weekend. So you will remember what I had to work with in the start of all this, some photos of what it looked like before the work was done...The back...The front...And now...The back...The front...

Thanks again, things are getting there... Now that I see I can't count on a friend of my wife's from work to weld the new cross members and ramp section, looks like I will become a Welder now... Had to go out and get a Mig today, kind of pulls money from the trailer budget, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

^^^^Isn't that the truth.
Getting a bit closer... The floor is done. A few more photos.
A few of my new to me welding skills, fenders repaired (I didn't get a photo before I cut out the old sections, but they were rusted out) and ramp holding section (welds aren't pretty, but they are strong, pretty welds will come later with time)...

Thank you 3 very much... Yeah I have always been the type of person to do the best I can, no matter if it was my things or some other persons things I was working on... After all the best you have is all you have, no reason to belittle "yourself" with anything less then your best.
Not sure if I want to do another project like this, for myself or someone else, but... I do have a old bumper pull straight load 4 horse "Ponderosa" that needs LOTS of attention I might dig in to.
I have another little update for you all... I sent the wife out for 8ea 4x6 floor mats to cover the floor and she came back with floor mats alright, 4x6 by 3/4s thick stall mats. I guess she wants the horses to float on a cloud while traveling, lol. That's ok we all know the horses have to ride the best they can (oh, I let her ride in the back for a short test drive, "Kind of bouncy in here, can "we" add shocks", oh Lord help me). In any case, there is another 800lbs added to the trailer, so with wood floor and mats I estimate I have added about 2200lb to the trailer! Looks like a new truck is in "my" future 43 , funny how things work out and I thought I was redoing the trailer for no gain for myself 52
Well here is a photo of the mats installed (polls in this photo are setup for 4 horse)

I was just joking, but very nice of you to ask. You sure are putting a lot of effort in this project and it sure shows. You will have the trailer that everyone will talk about where ever you go. Keep post pics it looks great!

Oh believe me, I was joking as well... That is why I did the ;) (sideways eye wink).
I don't think it's anywhere near a looker, but maybe they will stop and say "what nut did all that work on such a old trailer?)
I will say this, I do believe I added another 30+ years to its usable life... Would be cool if it's still being used in 2040 (and cooler if Im still here seeing it being used).

Thanks for your update! I enjoy looking at your pictures and you've done a fantasic job!
What did you use to cover your wheel wells with on the inside? I have some shaped similar and would like to recover them since it has spots bare. When I Herculined my floor I put a coat on those areas too but it'd look much nice to recover..

I started reading your accomplishments the first night that I found this site a few months back. You're doing an awfully nice job. Wow! I too, have threatened to learn to weld, and I'm a long of tooth gal (older than dirt... ha ha ha).
I've redone a couple of trailers in the past... an old 2 horse Miley, and a 3 horse diagonal Brawley. It is a lot of dirty work and does take a lot of time and elbow grease. (I love the Chevy commercial where they deliver several 50 gallon drums of "elbow grease".)
Keep up the good work. It will look wonderful when you finish.
