Ohhhh please please please do. They have one at our local RV place just begging me to buy it. I'd love to know how you like yours. I picked up one side and I think my husband and I could lift it... twice per trip. LOL No more though.
We live in Texas, too, and it looks like you and I have the same issues we're trying to fight. :)

By the way, I heard that they've recently updated the designs to make the parts a little more universal... so that's good news. Another reason why I'm considering buying one.

We recently added this generator to our inventory and they have been selling well. Feed back from customers has been very good. It is extremely quiet, runs all night on a tank of fuel.

60-64db, a tad bit louder than a Honda or Yamaha but you can still stand next to it and have a normal conversation.
Just as a reference, apparently a human normal conversation level is supposed to be around 65. When I read that, it really helped me understand what exactly the numbers mean in real life - so I hope it helps y'all, too.Nat

10 dB
Normal breathing
20 dB
Rustling leaves, mosquito
30 dB
Whisper
40 dB
Stream, refrigerator humming
50-60 dB
Quiet office
50-65 dB
Normal conversation
60-65 dB
Laughter
70 dB
Vacuum cleaner, hair dryer
75 dB
Dishwasher
78 dB
Washing machine
80 dB
Garbage disposal, city traffic noise
As the chart shows, Normal conversations is 50-65. Depends on the persons voice. Another chart I looked at shows SHOUTING as 70 decibles.
I have the Yamaha at 50-53 decibles and I'd hate to have to stand by it and talk for very long. It's not loud but it's enough that you find yourself elevating you voice to carry over it.

Really bummed. No generator yet. Mom and I just about attacked the UPS guy. He parked his truck in front of the house then walked across the street to deliver a small box.

I was fortunate enough to hear this generator run at the Equine Affair in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend. It is very comparable to the Honda generator. Maybe a tad bit louder but not something that would bother the whole campground! We were able to have a normal conversation without it bothering us. We plan on purchasing one as soon as we can. The gentleman we spoke to said they ran one on a tank of gas for I beleive he said 18-20 hours.

The literature with the generator says 8 hours on one tank of gas. The first person to test this out needs to let the rest of us know.
I believe you are right, 8 hours on a full load. The 18 - 20 hours is probably 1/4 load. My generator is here!! BUT, it's an hour away at my folks. We're not home during the day and I work on the 3rd floor of a hospital so I had it delivered where someone could sign for it. Will try to get up there tomorrow.... EXCITED!

Do these generators have half-power like the Honda's? If so, I bet the higher hours are at lower power while the 8 hours listed in the literature is full power. Just a thought. Please someone correct me if my thinking is wrong (so I'll learn, too). :)
I, too, am very interested in hearing how this generator does as I'm one step away from buying one down here.

Yes, they throttle down to save fuel consumption.
Awesome!! That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. I was going to check that before we pick one up because it's a feature I wanted for what we'll use it for.
Hey, I didn't realize you were the person with that cute trailer! Nice interior. I must have referred to it a couple of dozen times when trying to get inspiration for redoing our new trailer. :)

I COULDN'T BE MORE PLEASED!!! The oil is a PITA to get to but other than that, it's great! Started right up on the first try. Smart throttle on - VERY quiet. I don't have my trailer with me so dad and I hooked up a 1600watt hair dryer and it didn't skip a beat. It throttles up quickly and does get louder but very tolerable (like talking loudly) and supposed to be within national guidelines. If you've been looking at them - GO GET ONE!

We bought one with our new camper and it runs all night on one tank of gas. We don't run it on the power save mode with our air conditioner (18000 btu, supposed to be the largest made) because it bogs down a bit when the ac starts up, but on regular power it does great. I haven't tried it with the microwave yet. We are going camping this weekend so I'll try it out. It is a bit louder than I would like, but it didn't keep me up at night even though it was right under the sleeper.
Oh, and letting hubby buy the camper worked!!! I finally got a bigger truck. No more half ton!!! Now I just need to get a a/c for the horse trailer.
I wonder if a different muffler would make a difference. Anyone know? I need to find the thread that talked about it.

Thats good to hear. I beleive we will buy one soon! When you bought it on the internet, did it come with a warranty? If something does go wrong, can you take it to a local dealer who carries them to have it fixed? We have dealers in Indiana that carry them now, but they are asking about $350.00 more than what you can buy them off of E-bay. So I am trying to decide exactly where I am going to purchase it. Now, if I can just get my trailer back so we can go camping!! We purchased a new to us trailer this past winter and are having it re-painted and the living quarters updated, he is almost done with it, we are real excited to see it!!!!! Our electric camping sites with sky high this year at the Indiana State Parks, so buying a enerator will eventually pay for itself!
