The GVWR should be stamped on the serial number tag along with each axle rating and tire size and rating....

My 4 Star six horse head to head has two 8000# axles with a GVWR of 18???#. Can't remember the exact numbers, but it's eighteen thousand and some odd pounds.

WOW!! What"s the pin weight on that Bloomer fully loaded? Does your Bloomer have 17.5 wheels?

 You could probably add that 350-400# of LQ weight (tanks, plumbing, tile, cabinets, etc.) to the box weight that's already there...

Dodge has air bags to help with the ride.  to be honest it rides drives and handles pretty dang good.  I have an 08 that does just as good of job. 

The 4400 was fine nothing wrong with it at all.  570 engine would pull like hell but it sucked fuel and rode like crap at 72-80mph.  Hard to ride on interstate and make time without alot of vibration.  Changed tires, wheel balancers, alignements, you name it.  Never rode great at that speed.  Would fly without a load even felt like it would out run some cars from red light to red light.  Bottom line is it was big, didnt pull any better than the dodge, drank more fuel, and rode like a wagon compared to a 1 ton at higher speeds.  Probably just mine but hey it was mine.  Would i buy another one well dont know may if price was good.  Probably would buy a longer frame pete with a 600cummins or more for sure.  I want to be able to cadillac at say 75 and the truck not be straining.  Then they ride good and dont drink fuel so bad.  So for now I will use what I have and it does a super job.

The 4400 would STOP is the entire reason I had it.

The dodge is great as long as the brakes on the trailer work.  I have hydraulic brakes on the trailer. Disc brakes from dexter or kodiak work well I have had both.  NEVER buy a heavier trailer without them is my suggestion.  then you will always wonder why you never had them before.  they will slide the tires to a stop if you want.

I need one two according to weighing my trailer but I am good at playing stupid so I goin with that for now.

My trailer weith of 16,800 was with the water, tack, scooter in first stall, clothes, food, and all the freebie mags picked up at the show the week before. My horse rode to show on the trainers trailer. I weighed the trailer on a CAT scale at the truck stop by the 4 Star dealer in OKC. I dropped the trailer after weighing the whole rig first. Got yelled at by the trucker behind me for dropping the trailer on the scale. He was such a jerk, I just dropped it back on the ball, pulled it off the scale, then hooked everything up and took my dear sweet time doing it! 

My hubby reminded me that I had weight tickets in the console, since I mentioned that I needed to stop at a scale to weigh after I had some service work performed.

We wondered why the used trailer we bought had "not for hire" on the back....

Brushycreek; call Little Rock DOT after about a day of trying to find the number and you finally get through you will thourghly be confused. And let me forewarn you ;do not ask what you need to do to be legal. I carry the RV endorcement on our trailer and good to go; except If at anytime i haul to a show and if I win any amount of dollars I would be required to have DOT and CDL. All these trainers have been running under NOT FOR Hire and she stated that they were going to start cracking down on that reason; They are hauling customers horses to shows and are then classfied as commercial. She stated that if you put your farm name on the truck or trailer you were then required to have DOT Stickers and cdl. I stated that i had another question and she said that was #5 and how many more did I have.  Tax Dollars at work.

I promise you you call up there and you will get a completely different set of answers. I called to check on getting a DAV tag on a flatbed i was considering buying they said no way . In apprxx 3 months a friend of mine bought a flat bed to pull his trailer and presto got his DAV tag on it.
