I have been running across older 4-Star trailers lately (one was a 1989 and the other a 1985 - both aluminum bumper pulls). Was wondering if anyone had one of these at one time. Anything particularly good or bad about them? Anything particularly to check out on them or look out for?If you've had one or know/knew someone who did...what was your/their thoughts, concerns and/or hates or loves about it? Also, what would one of these be worth? (ball park figure is ok) 2H slant BP alum. with small DR

4Stars are excellent trailers. Like any other brand, they should be throughly inspected prior to purchase. The floor on any trailer is very important, and the mats should be pulled and the flooring carefully inspected in and under the stall area. The 4Star uses a sheet flooring and the urine usually spreads out under the mats. The entire floor should be carefully examined. On brands with the longitudinal extruded flooring planks, the areas of concern are usually on the curb side.
There is no exact pricing guide. Physical conditions, the sales geographic area, time of the year and its age, will all change it's value. The best way to establish a price is to look at comparables in the "for sale" section of HTW.

We had a 1997 4-Star that we bought used and couldn't have been happier with it. It was a two horse goose neck with small living quarters. The only reason we sold it was to upgrade to a bigger living quarter and a 3 horse. Had it been in our budget, we would have bought another 4 Star.

The ones in the 80's had the worst floors - they pitted horribly. I know several who had them & had issues w/that. I had a 94 & it was a great trailer, & floor did great while I had it. (sold it to downsize - it was more trailer than I needed anymore).

I have a 1992 2H GN and a friend has a 1995 2H BP - we are both very pleased with the quality and how well they hold up (and how well they hold their value.)

I have a 93 4-Star 2 horse bumper pull.
As the LQ trailers have came and gone (Featherlight, Sundowner, Heart, Elite, Platinum, now a Diamond), I have had then ALL and it is the only trailer that is still with me. Even outlasted a husband or two... lol...
Had it over hauled 2 years ago at the factory with new axles, wiring and striping, BUT not a single bad weld on it! They guy that made it was even still there.
Just don't build them the way they used to.

I have an 1985 4 star 34 foot on the the floor,And I inspect the floor twice a year and the floor still has no pitting at all.The trailer is very well built and still looks great at 26 years old. I would not hesitate to purchase a 4 star trailer of that age.
